The tiny air strip at Yida in South Sudan is no more than a stretch of dirt. Two cargo planes crashed here - one in May. It still lies where it met its fate, rusting. An Antonov plane from carrying medical supplies MSF crashed last Friday, just beyond the runway and mere meters away from a makeshift Yida refugee settlement teeming with people. The kids were terrified. Planes like these were dropping bombs on their villages in Sudan’s Nuba mountains, causing them to become refugees.
